Michael A. Brothers
Michael A. Brothers, PhD ’08, ThM ’94, MDiv ’86, is associate professor of speech communication in ministry at Princeton Theological Seminary. He holds an MA from Northwestern University School of Communication, and MDiv, ThM, and PhD degrees from Princeton Seminary. An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Brothers served a congregation for seven years in Danville, Kentucky, where he also was chaplain of Centre College.
His teaching and research interests include the relationship between speech performance, aesthetics, narrative, oral interpretation of scripture, and preaching. Author of Distance in Preaching; Room to Speak, Space to Listen (Eerdmans Press), Brothers is currently working on a book with the same title as his Engle workshop: Off the Page!
